Conceived of and developed interactive where visitors design and test a virtual transportation system for a city of the future as part of Museum of Science’s Star Wars exhibit.
This interactive gives visitors minds-on experience with the overlapping issues of city and transportation planning, resource management, and sustainability as they make choices in designing their transportation system, see possible consequences, and have their system rated by their fellow citizens according to cost, quality of life, and energy efficiency.
Notes on Design: This interactive was designed according to universal design principles for maximum accessibility for visitors with vision, hearing, and mobility impairments.
“…A hugely enjoyable movie-memorabilia flea market doubles as an eye-popping, hands-on tour along the leading edge of scientific breakthroughs. It’s fun. You learn something. Best of all, the fun is in the learning.” (Earth to Tatooine, the show teaches as it dazzles. Ty Burr, Globe Staff, October 26, 2005, Boston Globe)
